Analysis that means business!

Data collected with QPSMR, or information generated from almost any other program, can be analysed using the powerful, yet easy-to-use, cross tabulation system included in QPSMR.

Simple window selections allow you to create whole sets of high quality tables in a matter of minutes. QPSMR has many specification short cuts and single tables, selected tables or entire sets of tables can be copied, pasted and modified as required.

Analysis - Table worksheet

Your tables can be preserved for re-use - up to 30,000 tables can be stored in each set, and any number of sets may be created for each of your projects.

Entries from your questionnaire can easily be combined or restructured to produce new variables for analysis. Each response in a variable becomes a row or column of a table; a response may simply be copied from an existing question, or it may be a more complex definition referring to a number of different entries. Typically, variables are created in order to produce breakdowns, or banners, which are used as the columns (across the top) of your tables. For example, you might wish to create a demographic break, simply by inserting original Age, Sex and Area entries into a new variable.

Analysis - Point at cross table Variables can also be used to count responses to multi coded questions, to produce comparisons and to apply arithmetic to entry results; also questions are often copied to variables so that summary rows can be added or unwanted responses deleted.

Question and response texts are used as labels, and your tables and all printed pages are automatically numbered. Any tables too large to fit on one page are divided into fully labelled overflow pages. An index, (which lists page and table numbers, along with table titles) is created behind the scenes, so you, or your clients, can see at a glance the position and description of each table in the set.

Using QPSMR, tables can be filtered to any level; you could, for example, choose to see your survey results based on only male respondents, aged 35 or over, who purchased product A. Filters may be simple or as complex as required, and they may be applied globally (so every table is based on the data sub-set) or they can be used on individual, or selected tables.

QPSMR has it’s own method of handling verbatim  comments, so that they can easily be included in your analysis.

Many options are available to control the contents and layout of your tables; you can include different types of percentages, response ranking (in descending or ascending order), any number of decimal places and statistics and significance tests, as required. Statistically different figures can be marked, using a variety of methods, and your analysis can include arithmetic manipulation of existing tables.

QPSMR has a unique "overlay" table facility, where similar tables can be stacked, one on top of another. When overlay tables are incremented, they are added together, giving the impression of a single table. This overlay feature is especially useful when creating "banked" tables, which are often required in product test analysis.

QPSMR has full facilities for weighting your tables. You can apply respondent target weighting (the grossing of your sample to known populations) and quantity weighting may also be applied to your tables.

Quantity weighting uses any numeric, or single response entry from your survey; for example, if a question that collected an amount of money spent, was used to weight your table, the results would be based on the total amount of money spent (rather than the total number of respondents). Score values may also be allocated to responses, so that averages (means) are automatically included in your analysis.

Tables are laid out clearly and concisely to form a report which is easy to read and understand. If you wish, you can develop your own print style, and include company and product logos, for a really professional finish.

Of course, tables are not the only form of analysis available in QPSMR. Topline summaries of your data may be created at any time; figures, percentages, averages and even counts of reject (catch all) responses can be shown.

Lists of information from your survey can also be produced in hard copy or electronic format. For example, it is a simple process to create a spreadsheet file containing respondent contact details, which could then be used for future mailings, to head letters and produce labels.

There is no graphics "add-on" included with QPSMR - instead, you simply copy and paste your tables into your favourite spreadsheet or graphics package. This means that your output is not restricted; you are free to produce really sophisticated graphical representations of your results.

As well as being able to copy and paste tables, QPSMR data can be exported for use with almost any other program – including spreadsheets, desk top publishing and graphics packages, other market research programs and specialised statistical software.

With many data exports, questionnaire information is also included. This means that your data is not just output as a file which can be read by the other program, it is exported using the exact format required, along with all entry texts, ready for immediate use.

Information from your surveys can also be exported, for your project managers or clients, so they can produce extra analysis using the QPSMR. As a full QPSMR user you may distribute QPSMR Reflect, then along with the results from each survey, simply export a set of Reflect files (which for most projects takes a matter of minutes) and give your clients that little extra!

So when it comes to analysis QPSMR really does mean business; it’s powerful, flexible and ultimately usable!
